When I got pregnant with Sakura I thought "I will be able to work, and go to school, and be a wife, and be a mommy, no problem. Other moms do it, and I'm ambitious." Boy was I WAY wrong.
It's not that I can't do all those things, it's that I don't want to now. I mean I eventually want to finish school (2/3 of the way there!) but not until my baby is going to school herself. Since the day she was put into my arms, I have wanted nothing but to be with her. I loved her when I was pregnant, but after she was born I had no idea that I could love someone so much. I was flooded with an instinctual attachment to her and more love than I knew what to do with.
As a result, I started getting job burnout. My job interfered with my precious breastfeeding time, and precious time watching her grow. I still work at that job, but not for much longer.
I began looking for opportunities to work from home. I tried Warm Spirit, an MLM business that sells all natural health and wellness products. In the end *I* loved the products, but I was not good at selling them to someone else.
I also tried other internet opportunities like pay-to-click, pay-to-surf, and social networks. I tried blogging (I still have it by the way, it's www.naturalbabybiz.com). I also tried a couple of other odds and ends. I made some money with them, but never much. They were ALL based on getting referrals, and that's a tough job to get someone signed up for a business opportunity.
Then I found Discount Home Shoppers Club (DHS). I was so skeptical about starting it, but a friend of mine convinced me to try the free Associate member account to check out the business opportunity. I found that DHS was different that any MLM or other business that uses geometric progression to pay it's consultants. DHS DOES use geometric progression to earn you money, but here is why it's so much different:
1) Your upline will put members on your team for you. This isn't a hand out, but it definitely helps you get started.
2) You don't have to sign up a bunch of business partners under you to make money. The system is designed to work if you only sign up a few, but you have to train them to be successful also.
3) Here's how you make your money: You give away free ClubShop memberships. So EASY. There is nothing to sell, because ClubShop simply helps people save money on stuff they would buy anyway, and you get a portion of the savings.
About ClubShop Membership:
ClubShop members get automatic cash back on both online and offline purchases that they make. It works similar to a Costco, vons, Albertsons card, or whatever, except that it covers hundreds of stores instead of just one.
I personally use the membership to buy baby things like formula (I hate it, but my daughter weened herself off the boob), baby toys, and diapers. You can shop at stores like Baby's R Us, TOys R Us, Target, Home Depot, Bloomingdales. . . There are everything from diapers to cruises that you can get rebates on.
The membership is free: you just sign up and use it to save.
Why it works: Because everyone wins. Stores get money because ClubShop is like advertising and more people will shop. The member wins because they save money, and then you win because you also get some of the savings.
About the Business Opportunity:
The opportunity has a startup cost of $75 and a monthly fee of $29. For this fee you get your own marketing website, your own personal replicating website (a different way of marketing), extensive training classes about marketing and how to gain prospects, training on how to sign up stores to be part of the clubbucks program (if you can do this, you are in for BIG TIME money), and also how to sign up non-profits (affiliate members) so that they can get charitable donations while you earn. There is more training than that, but I haven't gotten it yet. You also get access to over ten different business reports so you don't have to create them yourself.
The contract with DHS requires your upline to help you. They have a time limit on how long they have to respond to you. One of the things that drew me in was how helpful my upline has been. I train daily with them on Skype and they always answer my questions. Also, the training that DHS provides is in stages, and an upline member that has finished the training will help you, so that you can ensure you are getting quality help from someone that has been at it a while.
Conclusion:
This is a business that will be very successful for the right candidate. You have to be social, and you have to like helping people save money. You also have to be able to learn ALOT because the training is so in depth. You have to be willing to put time into it on a daily basis. This is not something you are going to make instant money. If you put the time and effort into the training and follow the yellow brick road., you will make yourself a gorgeous income.
